Harry Kane, who is enjoying his first-ever winter holiday at Bayern Munich, “can not wait” to take his wife Kate and children to the beach.
The England captain, who has been in incredible form since moving to Germany, is looking forward to spending some much-needed time with his family amid the celebrations as the Bundesliga takes a break for more than three weeks. Kane also scored in Bayern’s 2-1 victory over Wolfsburg.
Speaking to reporters, he said: “I can’t wait. I’m really looking forward to it. It’s been tough here without the family for these four months, without the kids and without the wife. We’re going somewhere hot, so we’ll spend 10 days and just enjoy that time. I’m going to text all my mates in England a picture of me on the beach somewhere.
“It’s just about spending some time with them, some quality time. When we get back everyone will move to Germany, which will be nice as well.”
In contrast to the Premier League’s busy Christmas schedule, the Bundesliga observes an extended winter break, allowing players the chance to unwind. In England, games continue to come thick and fast over the festive period with some teams even playing three matches in eight days.
Kane is renowned as the top scorer in Premier League Boxing Day matches, boasting an impressive record of 10 goals in seven games for Tottenham. Whereas, he has netted 22 goals cumulatively in matches from December 26 to January 4.
Kane’s on-field performances with Bayern havebeen stellar, scoring 25 goals in 22 games, with 21 of them in 15 Bundesliga appearances. He will be back in action on January 12 at the Allianz Arena against Hoffenheim.
