Despite beating Switzerland, fans criticize the Black Stars tandem, saying “The Ayew brothers deserve Ghana sideline.”

Date:

Prior to the World Cup, Ghana played their final friendly match, with the two brothers starting.

Jordan and Andrew Ayew’s performances against Switzerland in a friendly match on Thursday were not well received by the crowd.

Both stars got off to a good start, but in the 62nd, coach Otto Addo substituted Antoine Semenyo for Jordan.

Semenyo went on to score the second goal for the Black Stars in the 74th minute, becoming the first player in history to score for his country. Along with Daniel Barnieh of Hearts of Oaks, who was given his first senior start for the Black Stars, the Bristol City forward received acclaim from supporters for this accomplishment.
But the Ayew brothers’ performance was what really infuriated fans on Twitter. Inaki Williams also drew flak for giving in too easily to Swiss players’ challenges.

    Don’t start Ayew

Otto Addo should never start J. Ayew. – @Only_regiss

      Be strong, Inaki

Jordan is doing well, however, he should release the ball on time. Daniel Afriyie Bannieh is excellent. Tariq Lamptey is one brilliant guy today.

Inaki Williams should be an African, not a Spanish. He gives up too easily and falls frequently. He should be strong. – @taadibanyinbagh

      • Jordan Ayew Ghana

        Did nothing

Apart from that set piece, Jordan did nothing, and the team got better when he came off. – @banslovesmom

        • Jordan Ayew Ghana

          Set pieces

Jordan Ayew shouldn’t be near the set pieces, please…. we as a nation beg you. Apart from that, everything set we will win the World Cup. – @Mb3l3s3m

          • Andre Ayew Jordan Ayew Ghana

            Bench Ayews

Nice improvement but, Ayew brothers on the bench onwards. – @Focus_PY

              Room for improvement

Great game to watch, but there’s still much more room for improvement. Bench Jordan and I think Inaki shouldn’t lead our lines, he falls so frequently.

Consider Barnieh, he was so composed and confident in the game. – @DanielKodie1

                Go for serious guys

Jordan Ayew and his brother were all the cause we did not make the first half good for us. Now we need to start Jordan from the bench and go in for the serious guys.

I think you all saw everything. Don’t like us talk too much, let’s make everything simple for us. – @dread_winner

                  Options Available

The centre-back partnership, and so many options for Otto Addo. In central attacking midfield, Semenyo’s effort shouldn’t be overlooked.

Inaki Williams should get himself involved always and finally, Kamaldeen [Sulemana] should bench Jordan in every single match. – @yawbryte_

                  • Daniel-Kofi Kyereh Ghana

                    Jordan Ayew vs Kyereh

Andre Ayew should start from the bench, replace him with Kyereh. The midfield should be Kofi Kyereh, Salis Samed, and Partey. Mohammed Kudus and Inaki upfront. – @AnodeyCare

                    • MF_Thomas Partey(C)Getty Images

                      Send Partey back

You don’t need Partey, send him back to Arsenal for us, God bless. – @Richagi_
