The Bissa Development Association (BDA), is calling on feuding factions in the Bawku Chieftaincy dispute to seize fire.
According to the group, the prolonged conflict has among other things hindered development in the area over the years.
Speaking to the media, the National Chairman of the Bissa Development Association, Alhaj Shaibu Musah, admonished the factions to embrace peace.
“We are urging the feuding factions in Bawku to reflect on the crisis. We hope that they get to a point where the feuding parties see each other as one, and interdependent.”

“In this era of civilization, we cannot be seen to be killing each other over chieftaincy issues.”
He made the remarks at a mini ceremony to mark the annual festival, Zekula, which was canceled as a result of the Bawku conflict.
Bawku has been in the news for months now following renewed clashes that have led to the loss of lives and property.
