Prices for trunks and ‘chop boxes’ rise as SHS 1 students begin to enroll

Date:

The prices of trunks, and ‘chop boxes’ have surged as new students report to various Senior High Schools nationwide.

Citi News’ visit to major vending points of these essential senior high school items in Accra showed many parents rushing in to complete shopping for their wards, but some had to leave with disappointment due to the high cost.

Some of the vendors who spoke to Citi News said, the price of a small trunk which sold for GH¢80 is now GH¢100 while the bigger size which sold for GH¢100 is now GH¢120.

They said their suppliers complain that the cost of producing the trunks has increased significantly, hence the need to adjust their prices upwards.
