The leadership of the governing New Patriotic Party, NPP, has asked individuals or groups who wish to purchase nomination forms for aspirants seeking positions in the party to do so using the party structures.
It said the decision to carry out such gestures on one’s own accord and individually will not ensure transparency and fairness.
Speaking at a press conference in Accra, the National Chairman of the party, Freddie Blay, said all forms of financial support should be passed on to the beneficiaries through the political party structures.
“It is also important that some hidden personalities have procured application forms for aspiring polling station executives. The party wishes to advice that any such matters relating to financial support in this process must be channeled through the national party secretariat for uniformity, fairness and accountability.”
Freddi Blay’s comment comes after reports that flagbearer aspirant, Alan Kyeremanteng bought polling station nomination forms for all aspirants across the country.
There are reports that the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the party, Antwi Boasiako, has also bought forms for some aspirants.
