The Member of Parliament for the Effutu Constituency, Alexander Afenyo Markin, has commissioned and handed over to the Winneba Vocational Training Institute an ICT laboratory with a Library and Fashion complex, as well as 2 pavilions, as part of his resolve toward the promotion of technical and vocational training of youth in the constituency.
The newly built ICT laboratory is stocked with 40 brand-new computers, a fully-furnished library and a fashion centre with 50 ultra-modern standard machines, and forms part of the MP’s drive to boost reading as well as improve the knowledge base of students in ICT education.
Speaking at a ceremony to officially hand-over the project to the school, Hon. Afenyo Markin charged parents to prioritise the education of their children as a means of making them resourceful and useful citizens in the future.

He charged his constituents to identify and harness the skill potentials of youths in Technical and vocational training to enable them position themselves for the job market as government pushes to have an industrialised economy.
Hon. Afenyo Markin encouraged the students and youth in general to place premium on the study of fashion education as a means of promoting their culture, by creating designs which project the cultural values of local people.
He appealed for the teachers and students to make use of the facilities provided to bring purpose to their provision.
Hon. Afenyo Markin noted that government has created an enabling business environment for all, and called on investors to tap into the various opportunities in Winneba to do business.
