ASA Savings and Loans Berekum offers scholarship to 15 pupils

The Berekum Business Centre of Asa Savings and Loans has donated a cheque for GH¢7,500 in educational support to fifteen pupils in seven schools in Berekum.

The amount, according to ASA is to assist the pupils in the payment of fees and purchase of school supplies for the next academic term.

Speaking at a brief ceremony to hand over the cheque to the pupils of the various schools, the Sunyani Area Manager of Asa Savings and Loans, Mr. David Amevor said the gesture was part of the company’s social responsibility to assist brilliant but needy pupils in areas where the business operates.

“This donation is part of our routine corporate social responsibility every year, and this year, we deem it worthy to put smiles on the faces of these children”, he said.

The beneficiary schools include Mother of Mercy, Akab Academy, Koraso RC, St John’s Primary, St Monica’s, Dreamers Academy, and Demonstration International School, all in Berekum.

Mr. Amevor said ASA will continue to support parents and women through assisting their children in their educational journey.

He called on other organizations to embark on similar programs to contribute and assist needy pupils in schools nationwide.

Asa Savings and Loans has in the past years been instrumental in assisting customers in the various operational areas where the company is located in Ghana.

Among the key corporate social responsibility programs of the company are, free healthcare screening, education on financial savings and financial inclusion as well as the granting of educational scholarships to underprivileged pupils.
