“Africans must believe in themselves to develop Continent”

Date:

Africans must unite and believe in their capabilities to be self-reliant to undertake development initiatives that would guarantee the growth of the Continent.

Mr Mohammed Adam Abdulai, a Biomedical Scientist working at the Tamale Teaching Hospital, made the call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Tamale in commemoration of African Union (AU) Day.

He indicated that the African Continent had enormous potentials and resources that could cater for the needs of citizens without relying on foreign aids for development.

“On this occasion of the AU Day, I believe Africa’s main problem has been poor governance which translates into the mismanagement of our resources, resulting in hardship among us as a people”.

“We have to begin to reflect on how far we have come as a people and trust in our abilities to develop this Continent to benefit future generations”, Mr Abdulai noted.

Mr Seidu Abdul-Fataw, a concerned citizen, who also spoke to the GNA, called on African Leaders to collectively institute policies that would drive Africa’s transformation.

He said the Continent had everything that could guarantee its independence from Western countries and called for proactive leadership on the continent to achieve this aim.
