Ghana’s COVID-19 case count now 5,127

The deaths, however, remained 22, with five persons critically ill and 4,611 active cases who were either receiving treatment in isolation centres or being managed at home.

Dr Patrick Kuma Aboagye, the Director-General of the Ghana Health Service (GHS), announced at the COVID-19 updates at the Minister’s briefing on Tuesday.

Commenting on the hotspots of the virus in the districts, he mentioned Tema Metro, Korle-Klottey, Kpong Katamanso, Ablekuma West, Ayawaso East, Ga Central and Adentan as some areas in the Greater Accra Region.

In the Ashanti Region, he mentioned hotspots districts such as Obuasi(272 cases),Oforikrom(25 cases) and Nkawie(five cases)
Dr Kuma-Aboagye said Greater Accra recorded 89 new cases bringing the figure to 3,981,Ashanti Region had 307 new cases bringing the number to 662, Central Region 27 new cases bringing the figure to 154 and Western Region recorded three new cases bringing the figure to 52.
