Two friends who broke into a mechanic’s workshop and took away several items under repairs, have been remanded into prison custody by the Nkawie Circuit Court.
Yaw Owusu 23, and Augustine Attah Kwabena 21, both unemployed, were said to have broken into the complainant’s fridge repairs shop, at Mpatoam in the Amansie West District, and made away with a fridge, laptop, decoder and several other items valued at about GHc 3,000.00.
They pleaded not guilty and would reappear before the court presided by Mr Johnson Abbey on May 28, this year for trial.
Detective Chief Inspector Comfort Amankwaa told the court that, both the complainant and the suspects reside at Mpatoam.
She said on April 20, this year, the two conspired and forcibly broke into the complainant’s shop and stole the items.
The Prosecution said a witness in the case who saw the suspects selling some of the items informed the complainant and a report was made to the Nkawie Police, who arrested them.
Chief Inspector Amankwaa said during interrogation the suspects admitted the offence and were charged and brought before the court.
