Nissan Ghana donates to COVID-19 Trust Fund

Date:

The Auto Parts Limited (APL)-Nissan Ghana has donated a Nissan 4×4 single cabin Hardbody Pickup to the COVID-19 National Committee to help combat the pandemic.

Mr Subhi Accad, the Managing Director of APL-Nissan Ghana, said the company was ready to support President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s declaration of “a whole Ghana approach” to the fight against the disease.

He described the President’s declaration as “a call to duty; a duty to ourselves, a duty to our country and a duty to humanity”.

Mr Accad was optimistic that the organisation’s contribution would go a long way to helping win the war against the pandemic, stressing that the vehicle would assist the work of the COVID-19 Board of Trustees as it joined forces to fight the virus.

He commended the frontline workers and other ancillary staff for their efforts, which had started to yield good results.

Former Chief Justice and the Chairperson of the Fund, Mrs Sophia Akuffo, received the item on behalf of the state and commended the organisation for the much needed noble gesture.

She expressed confidence that such efforts would be pivotal in securing victory in the fight against the pandemic.

She assured the donors that the items would be judiciously used to fulfil the purpose for which they were donated.
