Election 2020: Ayew Afriyie to go unopposed in Effiduase/Asokore Constituency

Date:

New Patriotic Party [NPP] Member of Parliament [MP] for Effiduase-Asokore constituency, Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie, would be contesting the party’s parliamentary primary unopposed ahead of the 2020 election.

Dr Ayew Afriyie was declared “unopposed” by Assembly Members of the Sekyere East district after a survey was conducted within the Effiduase/Asokore Constituency to assess his performance within two years.

364 out of 367 delegates in the constituency also voted “YES” to let Hon. Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie represent the constituency in parliament for another four years.

They explained that, the constituency is “fast developing” with massive various developments buttonholed by the Member of Parliament from government as well as using his personal resource and MP’s common fund for educational and health reforms.

It is believed that election 2020 will be keenly contested with the NDC seriously poised to take over the management of the country again four years after losing power to NPP.

But Assembly Members of Effiduase/Asokore noted their constituency needs strong tactics led by experienced current parliamentarian to safeguard the party’s votes with all seriousness it requires in the constituency.

The Assembly Members however vowed to make Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie the “Mugabe” of Effiduase/Asokore Constituency and also campaign massively for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to retain the seat in 2020.
