Goosie to embark on door-to-door campaign

Date:

As the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential primary heats up, indications are that one of the aspirants, Goosie Tanoh, determined to cause an upset, has launched a turbo campaign strategy after filing his nomination.

The campaign team has activated a door-to-door campaign strategy across the country led by different members of the team which in a stealthy approach, is meeting with branch and constituency executives and recruiting them to join GOOSIE2020.

According to Joe Onyame, Director of Operations for the campaign, the strategy was adopted to counter the trend of intimidation and harassment that has reared its ugly head in the primary process.

He indicated that “many branch and constituency executives have been allegedly cowered into silence with threats from some party executives, especially at the regional level” his door-to-door campaign strategy will allow “team Goosie to meet party delegates and have open conversations with them without any fear of reprisals from those threatening voters”.

“Goosie Tanoh met with members of the minority caucus in parliament on Tuesday and subsequently submitted his nomination form to the party and also referenced threats to his supporters and called for fairness and a level playing field in the contest and has successfully submitted his endorsed presidential nomination form to the headquarters of the NDC,” Mr Onyame lamented.

Relatedly, Mr Tanoh is set to embark on a five-day grassroots campaign to the Brong- Ahafo Region with a new wave of campaign as he takes his ‘’rising together campaign tour’’ to the doorsteps of the delegates with the first leg of the tour commencing on December 20 and ends December 24.

The tour will afford Mr Tanoh an opportunity to woo more delegates ahead of the proposed date for the presidential primary.

Goosie Tanoh, a founding member of the NDC has already toured and engaged delegates in parts of Volta, Greater Accra, Central, Western, Northern, Upper East and Upper West regions, where he received overwhelming support for his message of grassroots empowerment.
