“O LORD God of my salvation, I have cried day and night before thee: Let my prayer come before thee: incline thine ear unto my cry;” – Psalms 88:1-2
You must learn how to pray and never give up.
And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; Luke 18:1
Jesus told us this parable so that we would pray and NOT FAINT! Don’t stop praying! Keep on with the work of God! God is hearing your prayers.
Persistent prayer requires a lot of faith. You require faith to pray to a God you cannot see. You require faith to pray to a God repeatedly about the same thing. We know that God heard us the first time we prayed. So why do we have to keep on praying?
I don’t know why! But I do know that you require faith to pray in the first place and even more faith to continue praying. This is why Jesus asked, “…Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? (Luke 18:8).
You must learn how to bear long in prayers. I do not know why you have to pray for so long. But according to Jesus, there is a need to bear long in prayers. Jesus Christ is giving us information about how prayers are transmitted and how they are answered. Bearing long is essential for getting your prayers answered.
And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily… Luke 18:7-8
Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice. Psalms 55:17
