Around the same time last year, the Independence Square saw a massive service touted to be the largest gathering in West African history.

This year’s Good Friday Miracle Service with Evangelist Dag Heward-Mills seems to have dwarfed the former.

Masses thronged the square several hours before the given time just to secure seats of their own before the service begun.

The service took off at exactly 3pm with deep worship and ecstatic praise after which some Bishops of the denomination took turns in reading the 7 words of Jesus on the cross.

Shortly after, the masses witnessed a motorcade of half a dozen black vehicles pulling over just a few meters away from the arch of the Black Star Square. The Vice Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia emerged and mounted the stage to a thunderous applause as Bishop E.A.T. Sackey welcomed him to the Good Friday Miracle Service.

The Evangelist Dag Heward-mills in his usual style, preached passionately, led the congregation in communion and proceeded to pray for the expectant crowd. The word indeed was confirmed with signs and wonders.

">The Vice president then addressed the people. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia did hint in his address that the government is taking steps to implement the proposal of the charismatic bishops to build concrete roads across the country instead of asphalt roads.

The Vice President went on to preach about the sacrifice Jesus Christ made to ensure a better life for all hinging everything on "Greater love hath no man than this that a man lay down his life for his friends." – John 15:13. He called on Ghanaians to emulate the example of Jesus Christ and make sacrifices for the country.

The Good Friday Miracle Service was all it was promised to be; a service in remembrance of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and its great message of salvation for us all. Ghana was indeed taken back to the cross where it all begun.
